Northvale Clothing Ltd is a UK manufacturer of leather belts and finished fashion accessories for brands, retailers, boutiques, trade customers and its own collections.
Production covers material preparation, cutting, skiving, edge finishing, punching, riveting, hardware fitting, branding and final product assembly according to the individual manufacturing requirement.
00 Position
A UK manufacturer of leather belts and finished fashion accessories, producing both Northvale designs and customer-specified private-label, white-label and trade collections.
That means two things in practice. The first is that a specification is treated as a working document rather than a wish: width, edge, hardware, branding and finish are decided, written down and then produced against. The second is that the material gets a say. Leather is not a uniform substrate, and a product built as though it were tends to disappoint at exactly the point where it should feel considered.

01 Eight sections
No factory history, no invented heritage and no client list — just what is made, how it is made and what is confirmed per project.
Leather belts in full-grain, split, vegetable-tanned, chrome-tanned and bonded leather, along with webbing belts, braces, ties, small leather goods and finished fashion accessories. Some of it is Northvale’s own design. Much of it is made to a customer’s specification as private-label, white-label or trade production.
Leather belt manufacturingA project begins with a written requirement rather than an assumption: the product, the material direction, the colour, the width, the size range, the hardware, the branding, the edge, the quantity and the timing. Production is then measured against that specification, and anything that cannot be committed to in advance is discussed rather than promised.
Manufacturing processMaterial is selected against the product rather than the other way round. Full-grain leather keeps the natural grain of the hide; split leather gives a different, more uniform surface; vegetable-tanned leather is typically firmer and shifts in tone; chrome-tanned leather is usually softer with a wider colour range; bonded leather is highly consistent. Webbing and elastic sit alongside them for belts and braces.
The material libraryBrass, nickel and matte black, in polished and antique finishes where applicable. Hardware is one of the strongest signals a product sends — the same strap reads completely differently with a warm antique brass buckle than with brushed nickel — so it is chosen deliberately and fitted as part of the agreed specification.
HardwareEdge finishing, hand-burnished edges, punching, riveting, buckle fitting, hardware attachment, embossing and hot-foil branding. Finishing is where a cut strip of material becomes a product someone is willing to pay for, and it is the part of the work most visible in the hand.
Finishes & brandingCustomer-branded production covering the full route from brief to supply. The customer brings the brand and the intention; Northvale brings the material knowledge, the construction and the finishing. Branding method, size and position are agreed before production, using artwork the customer has approved and holds the rights to.
Private labelSmaller collections for independent labels, boutiques, specialist products, seasonal projects and collection testing. A short run is treated with the same specification discipline as a larger project — it is simply a smaller quantity of properly made product.
Bespoke & short runsNorthvale also produces under its own name, using the same manufacturing capability offered to customers. The own-label range is being structured around that capability, and specific products and availability will be published here as they are confirmed rather than announced in advance.

10 Manufacturing responsibility
Material is confirmed per project. Full-grain, split, vegetable-tanned, chrome-tanned and bonded leather, webbing and elastic each behave differently, and the material is selected against the intended product rather than described in general terms. No claim is made here about origin, tannery, environmental performance or certification.
Hardware direction — brass, nickel or matte black — and finish are selected per project. Availability of a particular component or finish may vary, and appearance can differ slightly between batches. No plating specification, metal-content statement, corrosion performance or durability guarantee is published.
Embossing and hot-foil branding are applied in an agreed position at an agreed size, using artwork the customer has approved. The customer is responsible for holding the rights to any supplied mark. Achievable detail depends on the material and method selected.
Leather is a natural material. Colour, grain and surface character vary within a hide, between hides and between batches. Those differences are inherent to the material. Exact grain consistency and identical appearance across repeat production cannot be guaranteed.
Where production follows a customer-supplied design, dimension set, artwork or technical file, the customer should verify the accuracy and suitability of that information before production begins. Production outcomes follow the specification that was agreed.
Quantities, timing, scope and the stages involved are confirmed individually for each order or project, in writing, rather than presented as standard figures on this website. Where something cannot be committed to, it is discussed rather than assumed.
